The Gibsons Curling Club is proud of how the community has stepped up in a collective response to COVID-19 (coronavirus) and pulled together as a team, keeping our most vulnerable in mind.
The Gibsons Curling Club Flea Market has been a summer staple for what would have been 20 years. The bi-monthly event from April through July pulls people in our community together to share unique finds and sell interesting items.
In light of the growing COVID-19 pandemic and the changing guidelines emerging from WHO, CDC and local government agencies, it is hard to bring the community together under one roof while enforcing the necessary social distancing. The flea markets bring together over 700 members of our community and it is not possible to keep vendors and that many people two meters apart.
With the recent guidelines and limits on event attendance and our love of the community, it is with a heavy heart that we make the following announcement:
The Gibsons Curling Club Flea Markets 2020 season has been cancelled and will not be held until the COVID-19 has run its course.
If the situation changes, it is safe to do so and we are able to hold a flea market this summer, we will post it on the Gibsons Curling Club Facebook page and website.
Please share, as it will be hard to reach all those involved and wanting to attend.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
