Saturday, February 22, was National Curling Day and what better way to celebrate than with a Survivor Curling Challenge, curling games and a potluck at the Gibsons Curling Club (951 Gibsons Way, Gibsons).
The Survivor Curling Challenge, hosted by our very own Ed Hill, pitted 16 curlers against one another until one was left standing on the ice.
Nadine Lowden was the first player voted off and Sylvia Kopeck was the Survivor of 2020. It was a great match and a great way to celebrate our love for curling!
In addition to the Survivor Curling Challenge, the Gibsons Curling Club hosted a three-hour curling game from 1pm-4pm pitted Yellow against Red with Yellow coming out the winner with an accumulated score of 15 to 10. The Special Olympics Curling Team demonstrated their mad skills with a score of 3/3.
Special thank you to all the people who came out to try curling or cheer on our curlers! And an extra special hug for the volunteers and organizers of this amazing event.
